My Self-Summary

Back where I'm from, I was personally mentored by one of the best surgeons in the Kingdom of Rondon, who was a baron no less. Eventually, I also ended up serving as a combat medic for a war that just recently ended. As a result, I can't say I've had a lot of time exploring much in the way of hobbies, but I'll be glad to explore that kind of thing with people here. It's certainly much calmer by comparison.

My Future Plans

Difficult to say as we adjust to life in this resort, but right now I'm just interested in getting to know everyone else here and assuring we all have a pleasant time. I assure you, I'd like to see to it you have one.

My Talents

I used to work as a butler, so I have experiencing in mixing some pretty decent cocktails.

[ his back is braced against the wall.

to say it’s uncomfortable is an understatement— the walls of this resort are thinner than they should be. he hears every moan pried from his throat, the sway of the bed frame, the groan of the mattress—

the feeling sits in his stomach like tar, clinging to his insides.

daan’s guest leaves. cloud stands in the door frame, lets the door slide shut behind him. he doesn’t quite look at him. he can’t. ]

…You okay?

[limbical]

[That burning need inside of him is starting to fade, finally. There's finally a sense of relief, even if it meant basically having almost nonstop sex because nothing felt like it was quite enough.

Daan is sitting up, letting out a sigh as he works on trying to find the strength in his legs before he's going to make his walk to the shower.

He glances up, tilting is head as he sees Cloud walk in and look... well, off? Despondent, almost. Honestly, he's kind of puzzled about it.]

Better. Thank you for making sure I was safe.

Are... you okay?

[kinnie]

I’m fine.

[ it comes out a little harsher than he expects it to — brusque and quick in that way it is when he really does not want to talk about something. he avoids his gaze entirely. ]

…Anyone else I need to watch out for?

[limbical]

Yes, the tone you take is very convincing. Tell me what's actually bothering you, Cloud.

[Daan shakes his head.]

No. That should have been the last person.

[kinnie]

I told you, it’s fine. It’s probably just the resort getting to me.

[ the issue is — he can’t identify what this feeling is, just the fact that it’s setting off his fight or flight more then it should. ]

You should get some rest. You had a long day.

[limbical]

[There has to be something wrong, that's what he thinks to himself. Cloud seems irritable, unable to look at him. What is it, then?

Well. ...Well.]

You did just stand guard for me for quite sometime, so. ...Yeah. Sorry, if I'm giving you a hard time.

You... [Daan turns his head and looks down at his own hands. There's the brief spike of anxiety that he doesn't reveal, the concern that now maybe Cloud will see him differently. It wouldn't be his fault, either.

Degenerate, that damned cat would mock him. You know you never belonged with such a crowd. You know what you are.]

You don't have to stay. I've... kept you long enough.

[kinnie]

…It isn’t your fault.

[ “you didn’t do anything wrong,” is what he wants to say, but the words are lodged in his throat, deadlocked.

he doesn’t want to admit it — that it’s just his own petty insecurity gnawing away at him. a silence passes in between them. ]

…Do you want me gone?

[limbical]

[There's a soft inhale, and then he just nods. It's hard to think of it as not his fault, but it certainly feels like it.

At the question, there's a more fierce shake of his head.]

No. I'd... feel better if you stayed. But you also don't have to, Cloud.

[kinnie]

…Okay.

…Then… I’ll stay.

[ he stands there… awkwardly, not entirely sure of where to go, where to sit, where to be. finally, he decides to pull up a chair at one of the suite’s tables, shoulders hunched over as he looks… anywhere else. ]

…Get some sleep. It’ll be over before you know it.

[limbical]

Well, I'm certainly at least showering first. But then yes, sleep.

[It's hard to understand the reasoning for the reaction. He thought he had a good understanding of their relationship, but there's something wrong now. What was different?

Asking didn't seem to help. So it has to be something Daan did, or said. Slowly, he stands up, grabbing a towel to hug around his waist. He opens his mouth like he's going to say something, then shuts it before he goes to stumble his way to the bathroom, trying to force his legs to behave after a vigorous day.]

[kinnie]

[ some things never change — he feels like a kid again. cloud gives daan a nod of the head, arms falling back against the chair as he waits.

it’s not an unsurprisingly long wait. daan was a remarkably clean man. he had to have smelt so good all of the time for a reason… wasn’t it better this way, regardless? he doesn’t have to say anything, doesn’t have to attempt to put up a front while he’s away. right.

the steady thrum of water eventually comes to a stop. when daan re-emerges, cloud is still just… sitting there, like a fucking idiot, head resting against his knuckles. ]

… [ fuck. what does he say. ] Was… the shower good?

[ ??? ]

[limbical]

[When Daan emerges, he does feel physically better, at least. He has his robe on, but looks at Cloud with a frown, trying to sort this out.

Nope. He still is a bit lost. But then, he can't figure that much out; nobody's ever been jealous over him before.]

...It was fine.

[Slowly, he sits on the bed, looking down again.]

Are you just going to sit there the whole night?

[kinnie]

…Not really tired, so…

[ he doesn’t think — about what daan could perceive this as. about his background, his own insecurities. he’s too mindless and inexperienced to make that conclusion. but there’s this part of him that wonders if he looks like a complete asshole right now.

cloud’s eyes flit up. he opens his mouth. then closes it. ]

…Said I’d keep watch and all…

[limbical]

No offense, but... I'm not sure I could rest with you sitting there with your eyes boring into me.

You can... come into bed, or...

[No, would that be worse? Considering what he'd just been doing basically all day? Daan folds his arms around himself and looks away.]

Hm. Never mind.

[kinnie]

…I can turn around?

[ this is obviously a great idea. a moment passes. cloud’s gaze flickers down to his feet. ]

…Don’t feel like laying down. [ a beat. ] Sorry. You could…

[ his jaw tenses. ]

You could call someone else, if you want…

[limbical]

[Ah. Is that how it is?

Daan's arms tighten around himself. He's trying to not think of the worst, but considering how this damned day started out, it's hard not to. Maybe Cloud, too, has finally seen him for what he really is.]

Are you...

[He swallows.] Are you disgusted by me? I won't... be mad if you are.

[kinnie]

[ his head snaps up, eyes widening immediately. ]

What?

[ he sounds — more taken aback than he should be, but the thought alone shocks him. ]

No, I’d— I’d never feel that way about you, Daan.

[ and he means that. so earnestly. ]

And if I did… if anyone did— it wouldn’t be okay. So don’t say that.

[ cloud falls back into silence. ]

…I’ve just got a lot on my mind.

[limbical]

[There are some reactions he thought might happen, maybe Cloud saying he was too sensitive or if he was genuinely angry -- not that Cloud himself has given any indication he would say those things, but it's hard to disconnect his expectations from past experiences sometimes. That, and he is more sensitive than usual.

Still, that reassurance isn't what he expects. He still isn't sure he understands what's made Cloud that upset, but maybe it is as he says -- a combination of the resort, and whatever he's thinking about.

It does make him feel better, anyway.]

I see. ...Forgive me for saying that, then. It's... not that I doubt your character.

It's just today's been one hell of a day. [To put it lightly.]

[kinnie]

[ cloud drifts into silence. his fingers come up to rub against his temple, uncertain of what to say. ]

…Yeah. I know.

[ great choice, obviously. ]

…You sure you’re okay?

[limbical]

[For a moment, Daan is quiet again, trying to sort everything out in his mind. It'd be easy to brush it off, say he's fine when he's not. He's done it his whole life.]

I'm not hurt, and I can think more clearly right now. So it's an improvement.

...But other than that, well. You know how it is. At least once a month, whoever is running this place seems to have a real knack for getting under my skin. [An uneasy, helpless chuckle slips out.]

[kinnie]

[ his gaze skates over daan’s face, drinking in his features — he can see the way he grits through the pain, the way he fights his own struggle. ]

…So you’re doing bad, then.

[ he’s… just being blunt, but… ]

[limbical]

[There's a slow sigh, and Daan rubs his forehead, closing his eye.]

...Yes, Cloud. I'm doing bad.

[He shakes his head, unwilling to look at the other man now.]

During the worship of Sylvian followers... [Orgies.] They could become lost to the urges. It's what happened to my parents. But sometimes, I could feel it too. That feeling, it isn't so dissimilar to what this game is doing to me. So on top of the ears, I'm having a real shit time of it.

[kinnie]

[ it’s about what he expected — the idea that this pain had something to do with his past. cloud looks around idly, slowly rising to his feet — he approaches the bed, only to sit its very edge, maintaining some distance between them. ]

…I won’t let that happen. I promise.

[limbical]

[There's a sharp inhale at that, and Daan nods stiffly. It's all he can manage to express so he doesn't get too emotional.]

Okay.

[Hesitantly, he glances at Cloud.]

Do you... still want me in any capacity?

[kinnie]

[ it’s a hard question to answer. not because it’s daan — but because it’s always been difficult for him to admit to these kinds of things. cloud’s gaze strays, quiet falling over them before he eventually manages to look back to daan. ]

I—…
