My Self-Summary

Back where I'm from, I was personally mentored by one of the best surgeons in the Kingdom of Rondon, who was a baron no less. Eventually, I also ended up serving as a combat medic for a war that just recently ended. As a result, I can't say I've had a lot of time exploring much in the way of hobbies, but I'll be glad to explore that kind of thing with people here. It's certainly much calmer by comparison.

My Future Plans

Difficult to say as we adjust to life in this resort, but right now I'm just interested in getting to know everyone else here and assuring we all have a pleasant time. I assure you, I'd like to see to it you have one.

My Talents

I used to work as a butler, so I have experiencing in mixing some pretty decent cocktails.

As much as I would love make people here a drink, I'd also enjoy showing how good I am with my hands. And, well, everything else, for the record.

Not much for books honestly; they put me to sleep better than any sedative. But I do like jazz and swing music, mystery films, and I favor beef wellingtons.

[A slow breath escapes him, as if relieved. Not that he had doubts, but to have the reassurance relaxes him.]

Okay.

[He can rest more comfortably with that confidence, then. That when he wakes up, he won't be alone.]

[ morning comes. the faux sunshine filters into the room, bathing it in light. cloud slowly stirs awake.

a hand comes up to tousle daan's hair. ]

...Morning. [ a beat. ] Sleep ok?

[limbical]

Hmm. [With a soft huff of a man reluctant to wake up, Daan rubs his cheek against Cloud's shoulder. He does like the hand in his hair, though.]

Hard not to when you're here. [It's mumbled sleepily, but honest.

A hand reaches up and touches his own head. Yep, bunny ears still there.]

Damn.

[kinnie]

...Smooth.

[ the ears look so fluffy, though. cloud pokes at one slightly. ]

...Can I?

[ yanno... give em a rubba-dub-dub... ]

Got my moments.

[The poked ear twitches, and Daan gives Cloud a proper look now, more awake.]

Sure. Go nuts.

[kinnie]

[ alright. two hands reach out, fingers gently grasping at daan's fuzzy ears. they run up the fur, feeling them out before massaging them in slow circles.

he's enjoying this.

caught in his sleep induced haze: ]

...Cute.

[Surprisingly, that feels pretty nice actually. Daan lets out a slow, steady sigh as he feels Cloud's fingers along the sides of the ears.

...Well. Okay. Maybe the ears aren't so bad after all. He does blush at the comment, though.]

Would've liked a different animal, though. How hard is it to do something other than rabbits or cats for me?

[kinnie]

What animal would you have picked, doc?

[ he continues to rub his ears, utterly transfixed by them. ]

[limbical]

Hm... [His eye slides closed as he relaxes under the touch.]

...I like crows. Ravens, magpies -- but I guess birds don't get soft ears you can touch. Shame, really.

[kinnie]

…

[ not surprising that he’d lean towards something so… gothic, but… ]

…I think you’re kind of a cat, doc…

[limbical]

Mm, you're hardly the first to say that.

[The ears in Cloud's fingers twitch.]

I guess that's fine, coming from you.

[kinnie]

Not my fault you were practically purring on my chest.

[ and then after a stretch of silence– ]

[limbical]

Well, you're incredibly comfortable. And warm.

[Daan purses his lips, blush crawling onto his face. He idly rubs his thumb along Cloud's shirt.]

...How could you not be?

[kinnie]

…Well… I’m not going anywhere, so…

[ and then he says that and— cloud’s eyes stray, cheeks heating all the while.

he remembers when he had called daan special — and how daan had reacted. the tables have truly turned, haven’t they? ]

Can think of a few reasons. [ a beat. ] But… thanks.

[limbical]

Good. You make for an exceptional heated pillow.

[There's a pause, and he absently licks his lips. He should just be able to say it, shouldn't he? After all, this is hardly the first time he's ever felt this way, but there's a strange anxiety in his chest too. It's not fear of Cloud, but he isn't certain what else it is.]

Please. You've set aside so much time to just... make sure I was safe. And I enjoy your company, Cloud.

...You're special.

[kinnie]

[ fingers traverse down daan’s back, mapping it out idly. he holds his gaze — and slowly does he inch forward, catching daan’s lips in his own.

after a minute or so, he pulls away, head canting. ]

…A lot’s changed, hasn’t it.

[ a pause. ]

…You’ve changed.

[limbical]

[A lot has changed, just as Cloud says. Daan considers what to say for a moment, quiet and contemplative before he's returning the kiss by pecking Cloud's cheek.]

...I suppose I have. I'm not much in the habit of letting down my guard.

Perhaps in how you feel more like yourself with me, I've been allowing myself to be more... authentic when I'm with you. Even if it means permitting myself vulnerabilities. Still don't know how much I like it.

[kinnie]

[ cloud is quiet. and then after some stretch of time— ]

You’re good like this.

[limbical]

Hm. Well... I suppose if you approve.

[He teases softly, but there's also some truth to it. It's not really something Elise would have liked much. Which gathers into the questions he's reluctantly developing pertaining to her.]

You make it easier. ...You really do.

[kinnie]

You...

You deserve that.

[ his hands slide down daan's back. ]

I mean that.

[limbical]

[There's a pause, and he presses a little closer. Not that there's much more space to close, but there is an attempt at least. Daan turns his head, pressing his cheek against Cloud's shoulder.]

It's hard for me to think that way.

[Deserving.]

But I'll try.

[kinnie]

...Daan.

[ he pulls him in closer. ]

I told you: none of it was your fault.

[limbical]

Cloud, I...

[There's a slow inhale, and he clenches his jaw. Reaching up, he cups Cloud's cheek, trying to embolden himself.]

...I kept the ring. From when they made us get married.

[Not quite what he wanted to say, but. It's close.]

[kinnie]

Oh.

[ that's quite the revelation.

the implication doesn't fully register; on the contrary, his brain processes it in the opposite direction. ]

[ god help him, he's not understanding. ]

Daan holds his breath and considers a moment. This is probably a bad time anyway. Would there even be a good time?]
