My Self-Summary

Back where I'm from, I was personally mentored by one of the best surgeons in the Kingdom of Rondon, who was a baron no less. Eventually, I also ended up serving as a combat medic for a war that just recently ended. As a result, I can't say I've had a lot of time exploring much in the way of hobbies, but I'll be glad to explore that kind of thing with people here. It's certainly much calmer by comparison.

My Future Plans

Difficult to say as we adjust to life in this resort, but right now I'm just interested in getting to know everyone else here and assuring we all have a pleasant time. I assure you, I'd like to see to it you have one.

My Talents

I used to work as a butler, so I have experiencing in mixing some pretty decent cocktails.

As much as I would love make people here a drink, I'd also enjoy showing how good I am with my hands. And, well, everything else, for the record.

Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and Food

Not much for books honestly; they put me to sleep better than any sedative. But I do like jazz and swing music, mystery films, and I favor beef wellingtons.

...You aren't a joke. [ he asserts. ] The things that happened... they were wrong.

[ and anyone who thought otherwise deserved only the worst. ]

Wasn't your fault, Daan. Never was.

[limbical]

[There's something about being told that. That it wasn't his fault. Daan's hand grips Cloud's that much tighter, his shoulders trembling. He's genuinely tried to avoid weeping at all stages of this, but he feels hot tears sliding down his face.]

Ah, fuck. Well. There's that. [Though he tries to merely brush it off, make light of it, there's a terrible new weight. It's not his fault, he knows that, but actually hearing someone say it is something new.

If Cloud and Marina both generally have the same opinion... the same outlook on this... then it shadows more questions about Elise he's never had before. Questions he doesn't want to think about and ask, but he knows they've been forming for months now.]

[kinnie]

[ he hates seeing him like this -- it gnaws at his chest, insides churning, eyes softening with sorrow.

cloud is quiet, motionless as daan's grip on his hand tightens; he eventually summons the strength to scoot across the bed and enwrap his arms around daan in a firm embrace. ]

I've got you.

[limbical]

[There's a slow shudder that escapes Daan before he settles against Cloud, embracing him in return, fingers curling tight into his shirt. Slowly, he's becoming adjusted to this, to being held like he matters. It'd been a real fear to consider that he could lose this too.

Daan rubs his eye roughly.]

Thank you, Cloud...

[kinnie]

[ he lets the moment amble onwards, content to let daan settle into his touch. his palm is firmly planted against his back, holding him in place as the air stills. ]

…’S fine. Really. [ he means that. ] Get some rest. Alright?

[limbical]

I will, just...

[Daan swallows, daring to edge on to being a bit more selfish.]

Keep holding me, a little longer. Please.

[kinnie]

…Okay.

[ he does as he says — and lets his embrace linger, not separating or breaking contact until daan is ready. ]

[limbical]

[He isn't sure he's ever really ready to let go, mostly because this is the nicest he's felt in awhile. Being held after the day, after crying yet again on Cloud -- fucking hell, he really needs to get his shit together. What is that, like three times now?

But he can't keep Cloud forever, as nice as the thought is.

Daan lifts his head, hesitating before lightly pecking Cloud's cheek.]

All right. Can't very well expect you to hold me the whole night.

[And still, he hasn't figured out why Cloud seems irritable, seems upset, but he's said that it wasn't Daan. Maybe it really is just at the situation. That, and he's basically spent all day playing guard for him. Anyone would probably be ruffled after that. So... fair enough.]

[kinnie]

[ daan’s lips graze against his cheek, and cloud turns away a bit afterwards, withdrawing into himself slightly. his feelings from earlier have yet to dissipate entirely — but he understands that it’s no fault of daan’s, only his own. there were more important matters at hand. ]

…You gonna be okay by yourself?

[limbical]

[It hurts a bit to see Cloud turn his head away. Of course it does. But ultimately, if Cloud says he hasn't done anything wrong, Daan is going to believe him.

Though still freshly off the cusp of crying, Daan still manages to set a wry tone as he says:] Oh, I won't be by myself.

[Gently, he pulls away so he can rummage around under the bed before he pulls out a bag. Inside said bag is a familiar looking baby chick plush a certain someone won for him.]

There. Not a full on replacement, but I'll be comfortable enough.

[kinnie]

[ a “huh?” nearly escapes his lips before daan peels himself off of him.

cloud has… no idea what daan is doing. he watches, visibly befuddled, before the plushie materializes.

he blinks.

dawg… is he really jealous of a plushie right now. ]

…Doesn’t compare to the real deal.

[limbical]

Well, no. It doesn't. But you said you didn't want to lay down, so I need a substitute, don't I?

[It's definitely not the same, but he does kind of give the top of its head a ruffle. It doesn't defy gravity and bounce back into spiky shape like Cloud's, but it'll do in a pinch.]

[kinnie]

…

[ he stares at the plushie… hard. harder than any man should. ]

…You didn’t ask.

[limbical]

... [what the fuck is happening right now]

I literally said "you can come to bed" and you said you didn't want to. Should I have been more specific?

[kinnie]

…Ugh. You don’t get it…

[ WELL, obviously. cloud rubs at his temple. ]

Just… saying… that if you asked, I would’ve said yes…

[limbical]

...

[what]

...Oh. Well.

[Daan clears his throat. This seems kind of a goofyass logic, but you know what he'll roll with it.]

Is it too late to ask?

[kinnie]

[ cloud sighs.

and then his arm hooks around daan’s waist, and he flops onto the bed, bringing him down with him.

it is very goofy. ]

[limbical]

[well there it is, they're both in bed now

Daan pushes the plush away so he can comfortably snuggle up against Cloud, fingers gripping the front of his shirt.]

Hm. You're definitely right, doesn't compare to the real thing at all.

[kinnie]

[ he really is just like a cat. visibly flustered, cloud’s gaze roams, fixing itself onto the wall. ]

…Been thinking about this for awhile?

[limbical]

[There's some hesitance, but eventually he admits:] Yes.

If I knew all it took was simply to ask, I would've done that much sooner.

[kinnie]

[ a sigh. ]

For someone so smart, you really have your moments, doc.

[ a beat. ]

…Was there anyone you liked today…?

[limbical]

I practically invited you, in my defense.

[he huffs for a moment before he settles back down]

Mm. I guess a couple of them were fine. Nobody did anything I disliked, but... to be honest, I'm not interested in doing more with most people.

[That is to say, if he gets a couple of friends out of this, that's fine. But anything more, he really doesn't care to.]

[kinnie]

[ interesting. that’s…good. he didn’t have a bad time altogether.

cloud goes quiet before speaking again. ]

…Why’s that?

[ just curious. ]

[limbical]

[ugh dont ask him this it's embarrassing]

...Because I'm not interested in those people on an emotional level. An ally, an acquaintance, or if things go particularly well maybe even a friend -- those things are fine.

[kinnie]

[ hmm. okay.

he swallows. ]

…Is this…

[ no, this was a stupid question. ]
