My Self-Summary

Back where I'm from, I was personally mentored by one of the best surgeons in the Kingdom of Rondon, who was a baron no less. Eventually, I also ended up serving as a combat medic for a war that just recently ended. As a result, I can't say I've had a lot of time exploring much in the way of hobbies, but I'll be glad to explore that kind of thing with people here. It's certainly much calmer by comparison.
My Future Plans

Difficult to say as we adjust to life in this resort, but right now I'm just interested in getting to know everyone else here and assuring we all have a pleasant time. I assure you, I'd like to see to it you have one.

I used to work as a butler, so I have experiencing in mixing some pretty decent cocktails.

[There's some affection in his words. Because he is truly fond of Cloud, even in the mix of everything else that's turbulent in Daan's chest. Either way, at least Daan isn't trying to actively sabotage himself right now. So, he's got that going for him.

You didn't do anything wrong. ...Neither of us could have expected what was going to happen. [honestly daan thought the worst was going to be like getting horny or something, which still isn't his favorite but at least he expects it. Actively sharing empathy, well... that's a new one, even for him.]

Not about bein’ stubborn. [ he corrects, like an asshole. ] It’s about bein’ right.

[ which he is certain he is! deal with it, daan. he hasn’t let go of him yet; cloud savors the warmth as much as he does. his grip tightens, and he gives a squeeze, embracing him tenderly.

his heart is alight with something inexplicable. affection. connection. care. ]

Don’t be an idiot. [ cloud admonishes. ] Yeah, I want a next time. And a time after, too. I’ll hunt you down if I have to.

[ is it normal to say that? well, he said it anyways. for a moment, cloud deliberates — and then… ]

Mm. [ two men who were terrible at opening up — at talking about themselves. and here they are, in the most ill fitting situation, experiencing…

an emotion that can’t be put to words. ]

[ stupid, but it was something. ]

[A wordless mutter slips out of Daan's mouth, because he genuinely is too tired to argue. So fine! Take the W for today, Cloud! Instead, he does let himself accept being held, a hand cautiously settling against Cloud's waist.

He huffs softly in amusement.] Glutton for trouble, aren't you? Well. ...I suppose we'll see how things go.

[dang cloud getting a second date what is up with that]

I'm not too picky about food. You stop doing that real fast, but I always looked forward to a beef wellington when the occasion would rise.

[ ugh he loves collecting the rare W, thank you. his streak of Ls has been broken.

Daan snorts softly, almost laughing. It's such a dorky way to flirt, but it seems to work on him, making Daan smile fondly against Cloud.]

Milk, huh. Well, you're in luck, that's a pretty easy drink to get.

[He otherwise leaves it alone, willing to let the topic go. Sadly, Daan will remember that.]

Mm. I didn't have much time to really focus on that sort of thing. Though I get some relaxation in mixing cocktails. I was a butler before I was a doctor, and had plenty of practice getting those kinds of things perfect.

[ at least he made him laugh. that has to earn him some points, right?

what is it with him and bartenders? his mind wanders to tifa immediately and wonders if she would be able to teach daan more about it. he doesn’t ask favors of her often, but… ]

[ he hears the way his voice quiets, and he bristles on his behalf; daan can probably feel it too, the anger bubbling beneath his skin. ]

[ the sudden shift onto him makes him go stiff. uncertainty envelops him. with some sheepishness… ]

…Don‘t have any. [ nobody’s ever asked him about this before. ] I… spent most of my life trying to become a SOLDIER, so…

[ he hasn’t discovered his passion for chocobo racing yet… embarrassment heats his cheeks. ]

I've had to talk to people for a long time. Doesn't really bother me, but it's definitely a kind of skill.

[He's worn many masks in the past, after all. Learned how to talk to all kinds of people, for better or for worse.]

...No one should have to do any of that, Cloud. I do fully believe that. But it's not always like people have choices. I certainly didn't.

[There's a pause, then he gives Cloud a kiss on the cheek.] Thank you, though. [For being protective of him. He isn't used to it by any means, but he's finding some comfort in it.]

Mm, that's fair. I understand what that's like. [To him it doesn't sound like it's anything to be embarrassed about. Daan's hardly had time to develop many hobbies either.] Sounds like we both could stand to find a few here.

...Feels like I'll never get used to it, personally.

[ cloud pouts with all of the sopping, wet attitude of a dog. it makes his heart ache to think of daan living that way -- but then there's a kiss to his cheek, and daan will feel him perk up in real time, his pulse racing. ]

Yeah, [ he stumbles on his words. ] ...don't mention it.

[ daan is much more understanding than he'd expect from a person; it shouldn't surprise him. daan was...always understanding. kind. patient. ]

...People, mostly. [ he wouldn't admit this to anyone else aside from tifa, but-- ] There was this girl... named Aerith. She was here and then she was... gone. Just like that.

[ cloud's voice quiets. ]

[There's a soft little amused huff from Daan.] She's very spirited. I quite liked talking to her. ...I hope she's well, wherever she is.

...So do you, Cloud. [Probably more than Daan does, at least in the doctor's perspective.]

You’re… not like other people. [ he admits, scratching at the back of his head. ] And not in a bad way.

…Yeah. Me too. [ his voice is soft. and then daan says that, and he falls into silence.

a minute passes. ]

Well. I'm glad that I can bring some ease in you.

[The question earns a small smile, then Daan gives a faint nod.]

[Honestly, Cloud doesn't even need to ask, but also Daan quietly appreciates it. Ever cautious about respecting Daan's comfort level. ...It's new.]

[ well. he pulls back, looping his arms around his waist. and then he kisses him slow, still unpracticed, the gesture sweet and gentle.

[It feels so delicate, the way Cloud kisses him. Almost like Daan has to hold his breath, or the whole thing will shatter apart. It flusters him in a way he doesn't quite understand in himself, not unlike how oddly shy he feels about when their hands touch.

It's strange. He doesn't get it either, because Daan has done so much filthier that this somehow gets to him. Similar to how eager he'd been to seek out ways to please Elise, her smiles and her laughter, yet this feels more innocent, in a way.]

[ it’s unbearably cute when daan gets like this. his chest swells with pride. ]

[ and then he clears his throat. ]

Oh, hardly. [There's some kind of security in being carried like this. It does quietly please him, and wonders faintly how much he could pester Artemy to do it more as well.]
