My Self-Summary

Back where I'm from, I was personally mentored by one of the best surgeons in the Kingdom of Rondon, who was a baron no less. Eventually, I also ended up serving as a combat medic for a war that just recently ended. As a result, I can't say I've had a lot of time exploring much in the way of hobbies, but I'll be glad to explore that kind of thing with people here. It's certainly much calmer by comparison.

My Future Plans

Difficult to say as we adjust to life in this resort, but right now I'm just interested in getting to know everyone else here and assuring we all have a pleasant time. I assure you, I'd like to see to it you have one.

My Talents

I used to work as a butler, so I have experiencing in mixing some pretty decent cocktails.

As much as I would love make people here a drink, I'd also enjoy showing how good I am with my hands. And, well, everything else, for the record.

Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and Food

Not much for books honestly; they put me to sleep better than any sedative. But I do like jazz and swing music, mystery films, and I favor beef wellingtons.

[He should stop this. This fantasy of things getting better. It is impossible, he knows what Olivia told him. It's just waiting, and it might as well happen anyway. What the hell else was he going to do? Daan didn't find what he was looking for in Prehevil, only more questions. Hell, this damned resort has made even more for him. It's made him question things he should never be questioning. It's unraveling him, slowly.

Daan breathes in and squeezes Cloud's hand, as if that'll anchor him from his own thoughts.]

You truly are one of the most stubborn people I've ever met, Cloud.

[And he says it so fondly, quietly. It isn't a feature that bothers Daan. It's one that impresses him.]

[kinnie]

Yeah, well, you’re welcome.

[ a temporary victory. he’ll take it. just you wait, that jrpg protag ontology will persevere one way or another.

he’s barely gotten through his chicken, but honestly— ]

You wanna head back? [ he asks, voice low with concern. ] You look like you could use the rest.

[limbical]

[Daan's had a little of his duck. It's objectively very good, but the more he considers Cloud and his kindness and stubborn behavior and absolute determination to protect Daan, the more it twists him up inside and makes him dwell.]

Mm. Let's see if they'll let us take this to go. Including the wine.

...I apologize. I know you said I didn't ruin anything, but it does feel a little bit like I might have. But... this was... [Daan trails off, then looks down at the carnation he has tucked into his vest pocket.] This was very nice, and I mean that.

[kinnie]

…You didn’t.

It was good— to talk with you like this. I mean that.

[ openly. honestly. he probably won’t get the alone time he bargained for, but he can live with that. ]

…I can walk you back. [ he’s trying to be a gentleman. ] Unless you wanna be by yourself.

[ he won’t mind. ]

[limbical]

No, I... I'd like that.

[It's hard not to feel like he didn't ruin it. He didn't know why he even asked that, he knew it'd open a door to something like this. His fault.]

[kinnie]

[ they pack up their stuff. the staff shoots them a sidelong glance, a little taken aback by how little they ate, but it's fine.

they're out of the restaurant not. warily, and with some hesitance, cloud reaches for daan's hand. ]

Could always carry you again. [ a beat. his attempt at lightening the mood. ] You worry too much, doc.

[limbical]

[That does earn a small twitch of his lips, if nothing else. Hesitantly he takes Cloud's hand, even when he feels like he shouldn't, but he wants to. So, there is that familiar warmth he curls his fingers around as everything else in him is screaming to stop.]

My knight in shining armor. [He says it softly, teasing back.]

I worry the right amount, thank you very much. [no this man is gonna go gray in like a year]

[kinnie]

[ ugh. his face flushes faintly at that -- fingers tighten, and they start to walk, the hallways pockmarked with besotted couples. ]

Whatever you say, doc. [ he teases back. ] Guess I'll have to hope enough for the both of us.

[ they're getting closer -- which is a shame, because he doesn't want to part ways just yet-- ]

I don't regret tonight, you know.

[limbical]

[Cute, he thinks to himself. Anytime he can score a blush, even just a little bit, he likes seeing.]

That's hell of a lot of hope.

[But he believes Cloud. He truly doesn't think he's ever met someone as stubborn as him. Marina gets close, though.]

...Neither do I. I'm usually much better company, though. [He wants to ask to try again, but he shouldn't. They're already in way too damned deep.]

Do you want to come in my suite? Just... for a bit. [Nothing more intimidate comes to mind other than just having Cloud's company for a little while longer.]

[kinnie]

[ that’s the power of a JRPG protag. ]

You were fine company. [ he corrects him — and then he gets that invitation and cloud agrees without a beat of hesitation, head nodding. ]

…Yeah. [ and so he follows his lead, the door swinging shut behind them. cloud looks around somewhat awkwardly, before his gaze drifts back towards daan. ]

You… [ maybe it’s a silly question— ] gonna be okay sleeping tonight?

[limbical]

[There's a small grimace, then Daan gives a helpless shrug. He sort of wishes he'd feel more comfortable lying, especially right now, but he doesn't--]

Probably not.

That doesn't mean you have to stay, though. I'm sure I can figure out something.

[kinnie]

Daan.

[ there’s a graveness to how he says his name, and he meets his gaze, a hand resting against his hip. ]

Do you want me to stay?

Be honest.

[limbical]

[A slow sigh escapes him, like a breeze through an old, dusty house. Daan finds himself leaning into the contact.]

...Yeah. I do.

[It makes his chest tighten to admit it, but he is honest.]

[kinnie]

Okay.

[ cloud nods. ]

Then I’ll stay.

[ it was strange to realize— that daan was just as vulnerable as he was. ]

…We should probably get changed. Then we can head to bed. Sound like a plan?

[limbical]

[There's a hesitant but genuine smile that forms. He leans a little closer to Cloud, almost shy.]

Wash your hair. I like seeing your face, but... kinda miss that spiky mess of yours.

[gravity defying jrpg protag hair is interesting ok]

[kinnie]

[ it’s cute seeing him like this. there’s a raise of the brow, and cloud pats at his own hair, a little insecure. ]

Fine. But only cause you asked.

[ a weakness. whatever. he wraps his arm around daan’s waist, bringing him in closer. ]

…Got it from my mom, actually.

[ his hair, he means. ]

[limbical]

[The genuine embraces he's received has been something he's still warming up to, but Daan notably does not stiffen so much this time. He places his hand to Cloud's waist, about as far as he feels brave to right now.]

Hm, that so.

That's some interesting genes at work there. Never seen hair like it, but... it's fun. If you don't mind me touching it.

[kinnie]

Not that weird...

[ he's just bashful, it's fine. ]

You told me to wash it, didn't you? You can touch it after. [ whatever... he can have his way. ] Go get changed.

[ his eyes stray away -- and then, without warning, he presses a kiss to daan's cheek. ]

[limbical]

Hey, I said interesting, not weird.

[He smiles a bit wryly, then closes his eye at the kiss against his cheek. Daan returns it, pressing his lips softly to Cloud's jawline.]

All right. You're gonna have to let me go, though.

[kinnie]

[ he sighs, relinquishing his grip. his expression practically reads "alriiiight."

it takes him awhile to scrub the gel out, probably because he used an exorbitant amount of it. he eventually emerges from the bathroom, hair now retaining its original shape-- ]

Happy now? [ he asks, with all of the exasperation of a teenage boy. there's a pause, and then he has to announce that-- ]

I, uh. [ a beat. ] Didn't bring any clothes.

[limbical]

[Carefully, Daan places his clothing away to be laundered at a certain point. He has a loose fitting shirt he considers good enough for sleeping in along with some briefs. Not thrilling, but whatever.

Daan glances over his shoulder at Cloud, then smiles wryly, reaching over to ruffle his hair.] There's that nest I missed.

[He hums.] I probably have a shirt you can wear. I don't know how snug it'll be for you, but worst case scenario it's not like I haven't seen you naked before.

[kinnie]

[ daan isn't met with any resistance, but his eyes do flit to the side, features coy and small. ]

I'll take the shirt. [ he replies surprisingly quickly. ] I try not to sleep naked.

[ there's a pause. ]

You never know when you've gotta wake up for a fight.

[ like, listen. when sephiroth walks into your room at random, you don't WANT to be naked for it. ]

[limbical]

[It's cute, the way Cloud's eyes glance away. (He really needs to stop getting so damned attached.)]

Well, I'm not planning on getting into any fights, but I can't fault you for being cautious. Wasn't that different where I was before this.

[Not that he had a change of clothes at all, but even if he did he'd probably rest in his normal clothes anyway.

Daan fusses through some of his clothes for a moment, fetching an ordinary plain white t-shirt that he thinks should fit Cloud all right. Despite how muscular he is, Cloud is also oddly very lean.]

Here. Might even have some boxers for you; I don't much care for how they fit, personally, so I haven't really worn them.

[kinnie]

Listen. [ he starts. ] You never know.

[ he doesn’t trust this resort. he doesn’t trust anything, really, but especially not this resort. cloud accepts the shirt, stripping off his billowy blouse, and tugs it on.

definitely tight around his musculature, but it fit well enough otherwise. ]

Boxers? [ a beat. ] Too big or too small?

[limbical]

Mm, that's fair. They have damned ghosts around here, after all.

[He says without really sounding surprised.]

Ah, well. They're fine around the legs and waist, just... tight elsewhere.
