My Self-Summary

Back where I'm from, I was personally mentored by one of the best surgeons in the Kingdom of Rondon, who was a baron no less. Eventually, I also ended up serving as a combat medic for a war that just recently ended. As a result, I can't say I've had a lot of time exploring much in the way of hobbies, but I'll be glad to explore that kind of thing with people here. It's certainly much calmer by comparison.
My Future Plans

Difficult to say as we adjust to life in this resort, but right now I'm just interested in getting to know everyone else here and assuring we all have a pleasant time. I assure you, I'd like to see to it you have one.
My Talents

I used to work as a butler, so I have experiencing in mixing some pretty decent cocktails.

As much as I would love make people here a drink, I'd also enjoy showing how good I am with my hands. And, well, everything else, for the record.

Not much for books honestly; they put me to sleep better than any sedative. But I do like jazz and swing music, mystery films, and I favor beef wellingtons.

[ he remembers -- when they were strangers and cloud was in over his head, burdened with an embarrassing, childlike crush. his fingers are clammy, awkwardly fumbling for daan's hand. but his grip is tight; certain.

he'd always wanted to be special to someone. ]

...I don't know what I did-- [ a pause. ] to deserve...whatever this is. What Zack did...Tifa and Aerith and... you.

[ another wheeze, this one strong enough to wrack the table. ]

...It scares me sometimes.

Cloud...

[Gently, he squeezes Cloud's hand, anxiously waiting for the medication from one of the nurses. For now, it's just them.]

You've dropped everything to help me when I needed you to. Protect me. And I like it when we're just doing what we want with each other. Talking, drinking, or whatever. You can be kind. Supportive. ...Sweet. Don't get me wrong, you can be a fucking brat too, but even then... even then, I don't really mind it.

You make me feel... like someone worthwhile. If anything, I struggle to know what it is you could possibly see in me.

You are.

[ he says that much firmly -- there is so little he truly knows, but he's entirely certain of this. ]

You're worth it to me.

...Then that's how it is for me, Cloud.

You're always worth it to me. You're not a burden on me. You never will be.

...Daan, I--

[ he's always on the verge of saying something. but it crawls beneath his tongue, hiding in its underside.

cloud hacks out a few petals; a hand clasps over his mouth. ]

Never mind. [ a beat. ] Burden or not, you can't spend the whole day here...

[There's a curious look in Daan's eye, curious to know what it is Cloud plans to say. But there's coughing, petals, and Cloud decides to leave the topic alone, whatever it was.

And maybe Daan's pushed enough.]

Well. How about after we deal with your symptoms, I'll agree to give myself a break and leave for the rest of the day.

How's that?

[ it's fine. don't worry about it, buddy. ]

You already know what the cure is. [ he says very flatly. ] Same shit, different-- [ HACK. ] ...day.

Sure. But I'm going to help with the symptoms so you're not just hacking up plants during the whole thing.

[He says it wryly, glancing over his shoulder.

Finally, the nurse returns with a bottle and a syringe.]

You okay with a needle? [It's quietly spoken.]

What, you don't-- [ WHEEZE. ] want me to-- [ HACK. ] cough all over you mid session?

[ he's joking. obviously. before the needle's mentioned, that is. his face sours, a flash of something inexplicable in his eyes. ]

... [ a beat. he nods slowly before squeezing his eyes shut. ] Just... do it whenever.

[Daan cracks a smile briefly at the bit of joking, but it fades when he focuses on Cloud. He's not unfamiliar with people being afraid of doctors and needles, but... with Cloud, it seems like a truly deep rooted trauma.]

I'll take care of it.

[There's one last squeeze to Cloud's hand, then Daan slips his grip away to prepare. Disposable gloves are snapped on, the syringe filled, and he pauses. He'd like to distract Cloud in some way before he does anything.

So he leans in, gently pressing his lips to Cloud's just before he injects the medication into his arm.]

[ bittersweet, isn't it?

cloud leans into the kiss, melting into it in spite of the tension locking up his body. the syringe pierces him, and it's as if he's underwater for a second--

before he opens his eyes to daan again, the slightest bit dizzied. ]

...I'm--

[ a beat. ]

...I'm fine.

[The dazed look in Cloud's eyes gives Daan pause, and he pulls the needle out before applying a bandage. The syringe is disposed off, and Daan snaps off the gloves. Reaching out, he touches Cloud's cheek.]

You sure? Don't mind my fussing, but I'd hate to see you faint right now. I don't think I'm quite strong enough to carry you.
